Joc Pederson- DH- TEX- Stats- Pederson had been the coldest of the cold this year. The Rangers installed Bret Boone as their new hitting coach this week and since then Pederson has gone 5-for-11, hitting his first homer of the season last night. Correlation does not necessarily mean causation. This could be simple regression to the mean. Pederson is slashing .135/.245/.240 with a BABIP of .167. His EV is 91.7 and HardHit% is 42.3%. Pederson is starting to see regression being his friend. The chance to buy low is probably coming to an end.
Andre Pallante- P- STL- Hot- Pallante pitched his longest start of the season, going 7.1 IP and allowing 2 runs on 5 hits while walking none and striking out 7. His ERA is at 4.36 with a 5.02 FIP and 3.70 xFIP Pallante has been wildly inconsistent across his 8 starts in 2025. In 4 of his starts he has pitched at least 6 IP and has allowed a total of 9 ERs in 26.1 IP for an ERA of 3.08. In Pallante's other 4 starts he has been touched for 12 ERs in 17 IP for a 6.35 ERA. The 7 Ks yesterday were a season high and Pallante won't do that well that often. He was projected to post a 3.96 ERA and he would have to even out his performances to hit that. Pallante can give you a strong performance but can also hurt you. He is not worth the risk right now.
Carlos Narvaez- C- BOS- Rookie- Narvaez went 3-for-4 with a walk, homer, 2 runs and 2 RBI yesterday. He now has 4 homers in 102 PAs. Narvaez saw his average jump from .222 to ,245 yesterday and is slashing .245/.304/.426. His 39.4%v HardHit% and 90.3 EV before yesterday's game are in line with what he did at AAA. Narvaez has taken the bulk of starts behind the plate for the Red Sox and is delivering results.
Bradley Blalock- P- COL- Danger- 2024 Chicago White Sox: "We lost more games in a season than any other team, a record that stood for over 60 years. How long will that record last?" 2025 Colorado Rockies: "Hold our beers." Yesterday Blalock was blistered for 12 runs on 13 hits and 2 walks in 3.2 IP as the Rockies were on their way to a 21-0 loss. Blalock saw his ERA rise from 8.03 to 12.94. He is really just an example that anyone connected to the Rockies are toxic right now. As a team they are hitting .215 and are last in MLB with a 5.89 ERA. A rule of thumb right now is to avoid any Rockies and load up your daily lineup with their opponents.
Michael Busch- 1B- CHC- Hot- Busch got multiple hits for the second consecutive game, going 2-for-3 with a walk after going 2-for-4 at Citi Field Friday. He is now slashing .268/.363/.512 with 7 homers in 146 PAs. Busch had gone hitless in his 5 appearances before Friday. He's got an EV of 89.8, HardHIt% of 40.9%, and Barrel% of 13.6%. Busch was projected to hit 21 homers in 526 ABs and is well on pace for that, at least.
